Gleaners Food Bank Volunteer Opportunity

Indianapolis Ambassadors is recruiting volunteers for a food pantry drive-thru with the Gleaners Food Bank. If we can gather enough volunteers, we'll reach out with some proposed dates.
Group Opportunity:
- Volunteer with 8-10 Ambassadors
- Loading cars as they come through the drive-thru
- Directing traffic into, through, and out of the building
- Bagging bulk produce or food items into family size bags
- Support families with food insecurity
Training Provided:
- No experience required - we'll train you at the start of your first shift!
Safety Protocols:
- Gloves required (bring your own or we can provide these for you)
- Closed-toe shoes required
What else do I need to know?
- This project requires repetitive lifting and bending
- This project does take place indoors in our chute area and some outdoor for traffic positions. The garage doors will be open on both ends so the chute will be warmer in the summer and colder in the winter.
- Volunteers should be comfortable standing for a 3-hour shift with minimal breaks.
- This project does take place in a fast-paced, drive-thru environment with heavy traffic so it may not be right for everyone.
